Selwyn Village Healthcare is accepting applications for new patients to enrol.
Enrolment numbers are limited to ensure we can provide care for our existing patients.

The following standard policies apply to all patients:
Payment on the day policy
All fees for consultations and services are due on the day. This helps us manage our resources effectively and keeps our fees down with streamlined processes. Payments using online banking should be received by us within 7 days.
Unfortunately, we are unable to hold outstanding/unpaid accounts. Any account that remains unpaid will incur an administration fee of $7.50 every month.
In some circumstances, persistently unpaid accounts may unfortunately lead to disenrolment from our practice. This is not a step we take lightly, and it’s something we want to avoid by ensuring clarity about our payment terms and finding ways to support patients in paying fees.
An Easier Way: Automatic Payments
We understand that payment on the day can sometimes be challenging. To make things easier for you, we offer an exception to our same-day payment policy for patients who set up automatic payments (fortnightly or monthly) for their account. If you choose this option, we can discuss a suitable arrangement that works for both you and the clinic.
If you’re interested in setting up automatic payments, please speak to our friendly reception staff, and they will be happy to guide you through the simple process.
We’re Here to Help
We know that everyone’s situation is unique, and we are always happy to answer any questions you may have about our fees and payment options. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our reception team if you have any concerns or would like to discuss your individual circumstances.
Safe Space Policy
Selwyn Village Healthcare is a safe space for our staff and patients.
For the well-being of our patients and staff, we have a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any aggressive, angry, discriminatory or rude behaviour. This includes verbal abuse like shouting or swearing, as well as threats or intimidating actions.
Protecting Our Patients and Team: A Workplace Safety Priority
Our staff have the right to work without fear of harassment or abuse, as part of having a safe workplace. Our patients also have a right to feel safe in our space.
Our Promise to You
You can always expect our team to be courteous, respectful, and understanding. We kindly ask for the same consideration in return.
Consequences of Disrespectful Behaviour
Any instance of behaviour, words, or actions that make another person feel unsafe will be taken seriously and will often lead to disenrolment from our practice. In cases involving threats or violence, we may also need to involve the police.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone at Selwyn Village Healthcare.
Controlled drugs and safe prescribing policy
To deter drugseeking behaviour and maximise safety:
- We do not start controlled drugs for casual / new patients.
- We have strict policies in place for any long-term patient on these medications.
- Anyone seeking controlled drugs for non-medical reasons may be referred to the police.
New patients
All patients must agree to transfer their medical record from their previous GP in NZ (if you have one). We are unable to see new patients until we have received your medical record.
Once your enrolment is confirmed, we will ask most patients with background health conditions to book an initial GP and / or nurse appointment to review your health background & ongoing health needs once your enrolment begins. All appointments are at standard fees.
New patients will have a medication review appointment in-person with one of our prescribers for their first prescription with us. We are unable to repeat your previous practice’s prescriptions before we see you.
