Fee Change

Increase in patient fees from the 19th of June 2023.

Due to a number of issues outside our control, we have to make an increase in our usual fees to maintain the quality of our service.

The drivers include increasing inflation and other costs, alongside significant reductions in government funding streams.

We acknowledge the substantial impacts these changes may have and really appreciate your ongoing support.

If you are struggling with costs please ask your healthcare provider if you are eligible for a disability allowance, or discuss your situation with our reception team.

Please see our fee page for more details.

Thank you to all our patients.

COVID-19 Vaccination

We have updated the information on our COVID-19 page, to help you work out when you will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccination in Canterbury. We’re not yet sure if / when we may be able to provide vaccination at Selwyn Village Healthcare, but will continue to keep our website updated as information becomes available.

Flu vaccines

We’re now able to give flu vaccines to all our patients, though don’t yet have the vaccines for ages 4 and under (will update here when this changes) . Please walk in 8:30 – 4pm, no appointment needed. Please don’t ring to book.

COVID-19 protection

Our team of frontline health workers are now being vaccinated against COVID-19 (through the CDHB).

We regularly see patients with symptoms consistent with COVID-19, and so vaccination helps prevent passing infection on to our other patients if we’re exposed. We believe there is good evidence for the safety and effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine being used in New Zealand.

We’re actively trying to secure COVID-19 vaccination at Selwyn Village Healthcare for our patients, but don’t yet know when this might happen. We’ll keep you posted through our website.

Flu vaccines – ages 65+ now available

Funded Flu vaccines are now available for our patients ages 65+. If you are 65 or older please come to our morning walk-in clinic 8:30 – 11am. Please do not call to book an appointment.

We’re expecting flu vaccines for other groups some time next month – we’ll update our website & recorded phone message (or you can subscribe below). We have no information yet on when we might be able to offer COVID-19 vaccination.

Flu vaccines 2021

Our 2021 Flu vaccination program is due to be starting soon; we’re waiting to have the date of delivery confirmed. Initially these will be available only for our patients aged 65+. This year vaccination will be provided through our morning walk-in clinic (8:30 – 11am).

Once vaccination is available we’ll update our website & recorded phone message (or you can subscribe to our news updates). We have no information yet about COVID-19 vaccination for our patients.

Easter hours

Morning walk-in clinic

Responding to your healthcare needs, we have a GP attending to urgent problems each weekday morning. While other practices may take days to offer urgent care, our patients can walk-in daily from 8:30 – 11am even if your usual GP is unavailable.

This is ideal for minor injuries, infections, and any other urgent / semi-urgent condition. For routine care (such as prescriptions) please see your usual GP.
