A Nurse Prescriber is a registered nurse with advanced training who can assess your health needs, diagnose certain conditions, and prescribe from a list of medications. They work collaboratively with doctors to provide comprehensive healthcare.

• Nurse Prescribers can help common issues such as:
  • Acute medical conditions (e.g., infections)
  • Contraception
  • Sexual health
  • Skin conditions
  • Other conditions where you are referred by your GP for ongoing care with the nurse prescriber
• They prescribe from a restricted list of medications
• They cannot prescribe certain medications, such as controlled drugs, some anti-epileptics, some immunosuppressants, and some mental health medications, check with your GP next time you visit if you need clarification.

How to Book a Nurse Prescriber Appointment:

• Talk to our reception team to see if a Nurse Prescriber appointment may fit your needs.
• Your GP may refer you to Georgina or suggest that you see her for follow up or repeat prescriptions
